No Tampering is a book that I wrote as a guide to the re-creations of National Jukebox Exchange. It stands as a record to preserve these machines as honest re-creations and not to be passed off as originals.
I created this entire book from start to finish including all of the photography, layout design, graphic design, custom typography for the cover and all body copy content.
National Jukebox Exchange full page ad
This ad was created for several purposes, initially the top and bottom half were separated to the front and back of a square postcard. After the post card was finished and printed we decided to reorganize the format into a full page ad. This was the final result that was also printed as 7 foot banners to be used in the National Jukebox Exchange booth at trade shows.
Arcade Treasures full page ad
With the same process of the National Jukebox ad, this ad is an accompaniment to the other.
As this is a sister company to National Jukebox the task here was to visually separate the two companies while still keeping some similar elements to unify them as a pair. This ad is separated in visual style with the main panorama that gives a much different tone than the National Jukebox photo.
Rock-Ola World Series Background Graphics
Many times in antique coin operated amusement restoration, paper graphics are tarnished, lost or unusable. Several customers were in need of this particular graphic. Using images of an original, I was able to reproduce this graphic to the exact size and quality needed. This is by far the best reproduction of this graphic ever made.
Eccentric Club Bar Sign
A side project that I worked on at National Jukebox Exchange was the restoration of an antique back bar from 1850. During the restoration there was an empty spot under the crown of the main back bar. We decided to add a period sign for the club. The challenge was to make the sign look as genuine and original as possible.
The final print installed to the bar just hours before the grand opening.
Keenan Brothers Decal
Another graphic I worked on with the Bar restoration was the original manufactures logo decal. The original decal had been heavily damaged and partially missing. Using what was left, I was able to reproduce the logo and graphics as close as possible.
Mills Illusion Machine Graphic
This 5 inch tall graphic is the center piece of the front door of the 1904 Mills Novelty Co. Illusion Machine. I created this graphic to be used as a pattern for an artist to hand paint on the door. This graphic is extremely rare and hard to find.
Caille Mascot Dial
Again, another project where an original graphic was damaged beyond use or repair, I created this using what was left of the original. Using artificial aging methods and extremely high resolution, I was able to reproduce this graphic to match the patina of the original machine.
Caille Money-Back Washington Scale Marquee 1905
The Money-Back Washington scale is an extremely rare machine with only 4 know originals to exist. All of the original examples are missing the original marquee. Using original catalog photos from 1905 I was able to recreate this sign with absolute accuracy to the original, hand painted type.
Full Team Football Marquee
This was a marquee that I reproduced using photos of an original.
Mills Floor Model Perfume Lady Marquee
This was a marquee that I reproduced for a set of reproduction machines. Again this was another marquee where no originals are know besides small catalog photos. Using many different references I was able to accurately reproduce this sign.
"First Flights Fail Marquee Sign"
Mutoscope viewers were popular coin operated machines of the early 1900's. Though many of these machines still exist today, hardly any original marquee signs are still around. For these next few marquee signs I produced age and style appropriate graphics for specific Mutoscope reels.
"Hindenburg Disaster Marquee Sign"
"King Kong Marquee Sign"
"The Human Derrick Marquee Sign"
"Trip to the Moon Marquee Sign"
"Trip to the Moon Full Marquee Sign"
"Outlaws of the Badlands Marquee Sign"
